Towson University is a public university in Towson, Maryland. Founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers, Towson University is a part of the University System of Maryland. Since its founding, the university has evolved into eight subsidiary colleges with over 20,000 students.
U.S. News & World Report placed Towson University among the top 10 public universities in the North region in its 2022-2023 Best Colleges rankings. TU also received recognition as a top performer in social mobility, and for its excellent undergraduate business administration, computer science and nursing programs.
Students must meet the following requirements: GPA of 3.0 or higher. possess a C or higher in all required coursework when transferring; no course lower than a 2.0 will transfer.
